Associate Scientist

Job Summary:

As a member of the Research group, the Scientist will play a key role in developing the next generation of processes for the high throughput analysis of genomic DNA. The individual’s main responsibilities will be to help prepare and improve libraries using the novel Long Fragment Read technology.  The successful candidate should have a keen desire to work at the bench.

                                                                         

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and test new NGS library methods

  • Report results weekly

  • Participate in group meetings

  • Publish results

  • Perform other work related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to independently design and execute experiments as well as work in a team environment.

  • Ability to analyze and coherently report results.

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

  • Experience in operating high-end analytical instrumentation.

  • PhD in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.) and at least 3 years of relevant postdoctoral experience

  • Experience with next generation library prep methods

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of related postdoctoral experience or several years of developmental work on next generation library prep methods
