Contract Manager – Global Supply Chain 


Job Summary:
The Contract Manager, reports to the Senior Director, works across the BGI organization to support the technical leaders, and field experts and technical project managers. This person will play a key role in managing contracts with our customers, contract and/or sub-contract manufacturers and suppliers in alignment with business strategies and goals. This role requires ability to build good relationships with customers and vendors. This person will work closely with product, engineering, manufacturing and supply chain, and senior management within the company.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with technical leaders and senior managers across teams to generate agreements, procurement contracts, commercial contracts with vendors and customers; reviews NDA and SOW in alignment with company policies, business strategies, objectives, and other contract conditions

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and business team within the organization

  • Partner with strategic sourcing team members, legal, finance etc. throughout the suppliers and customers life cycle to drive compliance and protection

  • Analyzes significant, and unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Review contract and sub-contract manufacturers and suppliers’ agreements, design agreements, and collaboration agreements to identify potential areas of concerns

  • Obtains all required internal reviews and approvals for contract terms and provisions

  • Prepares contract paperwork, complies and analyzes data, maintains historical versions and data

  • Provides guidance in terms and conditions of supplier agreements, and advises on risks and liabilities of the purchasing and servicing transactions

  • Supports both domestic and international affiliates and agreements

  • Assesses financial risk of new projects

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, legal or finance disciplines

  • MBA or other related graduate level degree is a plus

  • 5 or more years work experience of contract drafting, negotiating, managing

  • Strong strategic thinking and communication skills, and attention to details

  • Strong ability to manage multiple contracts and to prioritize them to support business needs and requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple team leaders and stakeholders

  • Other responsibilities as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IP law working experience

  • Finance and accounting principles

  • Experience in medical device, biotech or pharmaceutical industries
