Associate Legal Counsel

As the  Associate Legal Counsel , you will manage a wide array of legal and compliance activities across the company, working with colleagues in all parts of the business and dealing with matters impacting our commercial, development and administrative operations. We are seeking individuals who are confident self-starters, independent thinkers, not afraid to ask questions, but also willing to look for a creative answer that is both compliant and practical.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  •         Follow key trends and latest developments and regulations relevant to export control, sanctions, and privacy laws; identify emerging challenges and design and implement strategies to minimize risk;
  •         Advise executive and senior management team of their responsibilities and obligations and help them develop a culture of compliance;
  •         Advise business partner on all legal aspects related to products/business for medical devices (FDA) and laboratory equipment;
  •         Review, draft, and negotiate various contractual/corporate documentation for business units and operating companies;
  •         Advise on labor law issues and coordinate with internal and external resources in labor disputes;
  •         Advise on product liability-related legal issues and manage the resolution of legal disputes;
  •         Provide input to the legal part of risk management process in project/system business;
  •         Conduct legal research, analysis, and other projects or legal matters;
  •         Conduct and handle filings/registrations of legal entities, branches, and maintenance of such filings/registrations, including the appointment of various positions, reviewing/drafting bylaws, and relevant internal policies;
  •         Coordinate and work closely with legal colleagues from headquarter and other departments as well as and external firm;
  •         Deal with administrative work and other formalities, such as meeting arrangements, external lawyer’s bill handling, and serve as department coordinator within the company.  

WHAT YOU WILL BRING US

  •         In-depth knowledge of, and sufficient work experience dealing with, all general commercial/corporate laws and regulations
  •         Good communication skills and be able to work effectively with team members

 

WHAT YOUR EDUCATION LOOKS LIKE

  •         Juris Doctorate Degree
  •         US Bar admission
  •         At least three years of relevant work experience

 

HOW WE WILL REWARD YOU

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 in California. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.  The actual compensation paid to any individual for this position may vary depending on factors such as experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
