Job Title: Research Associate, Reagent Development

Reports To: Senior Manager, Reagent Development 

Department: Product Development

Location: San Jose, CA

Job Summary:

This position is for a self-motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate with hands-on wet-lab experience to support our NGS service and lab. The candidate should be able to execute experiments independently, communicate with team players effectively, and interpret and document results in a timely fashion. 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct experiments following SOPs.
• Organize and maintain experimental records and lab procedures.
• Plan, execute and troubleshoot experiments, in-depth analysis, reporting of these results through documentation and presentations.
• Routine lab management including but not limited to cleaning and organization, inventory and purchase, etc.
• Perform other work related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Experience of molecular biology and analytical techniques including qRT-PCR, PAGE, molecular cloning, and/or nucleic acid isolation and manipulation.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to plan and execute priorities and timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Molecular and cellular biology with cell culture or tissue.
• Experience in Sequencing-based omics technology development.
• Deep understanding of a wide variety NGS library preparation workflows; single cell and/or array-based workflows.
• Proven ability to write SOPs and train others to successfully perform the work.

The base salary range for this position is $68,000 to $85,000. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. The actual compensation paid to any individual for this position may vary depending on factors such as experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
