This position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced team and make an impact in life sciences, working towards our vision to enable effective and affordable healthcare solutions for all. The Field Service Engineer provides onsite and remote service and support to customers. She/He provides feedback and service knowledge to other departments to drive improvements and share information on Instrumentations. The Field Service Engineer performs Service activities at clinical and scientific research sites according to approved written instructions, and documents the activities performed.

Reporting to the Director of Field and Sales Support, we are hiring Field Services Engineers in the US Southwest Region including Southern California (CA), Arizona (AZ), Nevada (NV) and Utah (UT). 

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) Instruments according to documented instructions.
• Install and remove NGS Instruments at clinical sites according to documented instructions.
• Document activities, as required.
• Coordinate service activities with site personnel, as needed.
• Provide technical phone support to customers.
• Communicate and help resolve technical issues in preparation for the install of the NGS Instruments.
• Train others to perform servicing activities on NGS Instruments.
• Generate service instruction documentation.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Support manufacturing, as needed.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/science field or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional customer service skills and professionalism. 
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve malfunctions in complex electromechanical systems.
• Previous experience with NGS instrumentation preferred.
• Excellent organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to follow procedures without deviation.
• Up to 70% travel.

The base salary range for this position is $56,000 to $75,000. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. The actual compensation paid to any individual for this position may vary depending on factors such as experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
