Outreach and Community Manager - Sawa

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sawa seeks a flexible and versatile Outreach and Community Manager who will be in charge of the growth of our brand, online community, and social media presence. The Outreach & Community Manager is responsible for maximizing reach and engagement of content across all owned and distributed platforms. Independently drive outreach initiatives while fostering collaborative relationships with other departments. Exemplify extraordinary communication abilities while remaining well-informed about global and Arabic digital journalism trends and deliver captivating presentations with a high level of organization.

The Outreach & Community Manager will play a pivotal role in elevating the visibility and impact of Sawa podcasts, as well as other audio programs and streams.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and responsibilities noted below are considered the essential functions of the job.

  • Implement new tools and strategies to enhance the outreach impact of Sawa content, identifying areas of potential growth.
  • Develop comprehensive and strategic outreach campaigns in collaboration with the team, resulting in maximum reach and impact to achieve goals.
  • Draft and organize all essential communications to effectively execute outreach campaigns.
  • Foster a strong and engaged community around Sawa content, promoting meaningful discussions and interactions.
  • Establish partnerships with influencers, organizations, and platforms to expand the reach of our content offering.
  • Plan and execute engaging events, contests, and promotions to increase listener engagement.
  • Address listener feedback and inquiries to ensure community satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Track and report progress and market shifts to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with creative and development teams to create compelling and consistent content across multiple platforms, ensuring brand integrity.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to develop and implement an effective marketing outreach strategy.
  • Conduct extensive market research to identify potential partnerships and growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of streamlined processes, workflows, and content templates to enhance team efficiency and success.
  • Take the lead in managing and monitoring various social media campaigns.
  • Foster cross-functional communication within the organization to ensure alignment with target audiences' needs.
  • Provide guidance and direction for creative and media asset development.
  • Innovate and experiment with diverse social media tactics to enhance brand awareness and drive engagement, bolstering Sawa's online presence.
  • Assist in creating compelling and error-free copy for website content, promotional materials, and newsletters.
  • Stay updated on current benchmark trends and audience preferences through thorough research.
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content on a daily basis, including original text, photos, videos, and stories.
  • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics, and implement adjustments as necessary.
  • Stay abreast of the latest technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications, ensuring Sawa remains ahead of the curve.

OTHER DUTIES:

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by events and circumstances.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in content strategy, social media, and analytics.
  • Successfully executed saucerful marketing and community management in the podcasting or news industry.
  • In-depth understanding of podcast platforms, trends, and audience behavior.
  • Demonstrated passion, knowledge, and expertise in delivering engaging social media content.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Proficient in various online and social media analytics and insights.
  • Achieved significant growth and success in utilizing new platforms to boost brand or publication's social media presence.
  • Extensive knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics.
  • Familiarity with online marketing channels.
  • Exceptional ability to craft captivating headlines and engaging social media content.
  • Proficient in utilizing social media insights and top tools such as Hootsuite, Crowd Tangle, and Social Bakers.
  • Willingness to adapt to flexible work schedules to support a 24/7 news environment.
