Senior Web Developer – Front – End (PHP)
The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is looking for a highly experienced Senior Front-End Web Developer to provide solutions built on the Drupal framework, as well as support and maintenance of current and future Drupal environments and sites. This position would suit an individual who has strong digital and technological skills and the ability to build web experiences using PHP with Drupal CMS. The ideal candidate must have skills in front end technologies like HTML and CSS; structured JavaScript; and be familiar with modern libraries and frameworks such as jQuery, React, and Angular.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Senior Web Developer – Front – End (PHP) include, but are not limited to:
• Work closely with editorial stakeholders and other software engineers to seamlessly integrate with frontend visuals and designs
• Build technical solutions, reusable components, templates, code and libraries to meet the requirements of the local design and editorial teams
• Develop consumer web applications and provide support of existing sites and applications and contribute to the technical direction of our framework
• Assessing the technical feasibility of projects and giving realistic time estimations for the work required
• Work independently and efficiently within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Participate in and lead as required, the team's agile planning and delivery process
• Re-factor and enhance existing outsource CMS platforms as part of the transfer to our in-house operations
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years professional experience with Drupal 7 or 8
• Support the creation of mock ups, converting design into HTML, and implementing websites.
• Must have advanced experience with Drupal Theming
• Solid experience in of one or more popular front end Javascript languages (Vue, React,Angular etc)
• Experience with Drupal's key contrib modules, i.e. CTools, Views, Rules, etc.
• Hands on experience HTML5/XHTML and CSS
• Experience building responsive web sites
• Experience using layout grid interfaces
• Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs.
• Ability to work with changing priorities and multiple projects.
• Precision and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Mastery of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility and SEO.
• Attention to detail and an appreciation for design and beautiful UX
• Experience with Git
• Excellent written and verbal English skills.
