Technical Product Manager
The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is looking for an experienced, dynamic & detail-oriented Technical Product Manager to support & work alongside a big team of journalists & content creators. The candidate will work with our newsroom, engineering & product teams to provide technology solutions that support MBN’s digital strategic initiatives. The Candidate will analyze & document user processes, workflows & platform requirements for MBN’s in-house tools, such as content management systems (CMS), media & digital asset management systems (MAM/DAM), tag management systems (TMS) & digital rights management systems (DRM).
The ideal candidate is a very detail-oriented technical project manager who can translate complicated business requirements into actionable deliverables. S/he must possess significant knowledge & hands-on experience in the broadcast & digital media industry.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Technical Product Manager include, but are not limited to:
• Work with the editorial staff, stakeholders, engineers & senior management to identify, document, prioritize & build requirements for new & incremental internal tools to support the overall editorial team's workflows & functionality. • Fully understand the technology within the digital media & marketing space & how they relate to whatever that is under development. • Set & measure baseline metrics that will be used to inform prioritization decisions. • Lead meetings with senior cross-functional stakeholders, communicate & provide visibility into project priorities, & solution options that drive stakeholder alignment. • Effectively present business cases for digital platform initiatives to senior leadership. • Collaborate with training & enablement organizations to plan and deploy effective end-user training & ensure successful change management. • Provide superior customer service to all internal customers. • Become an expert on MBN’s Digital brands, tools & services. • Identify & drive opportunities for platform innovation & growth. Position Description • Lead the development of the consumer-focused product strategy & vision supported by internal & external analysis. • Define and maintain creative, high quality, simple product roadmaps based on team strategy and vision. • Develop detailed, crisp business requirements & user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product and application. • Work closely with engineering teams and program management to deliver products to market • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic and technical goals. • Maintain project controls that accurately reflect completed work against project plans, schedules, and budgets. • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with editorial stakeholders and technical project leads. • Collaborate with other product owners on dependencies. • Continually drive product development towards a meaningful balance between user needs, business objectives, resource utilization, and technical feasibility.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• 7+ years of technical project management or business analysis experience in the media industry. • In-depth understanding of the typical use cases for Digital platform implementations (CMS, Analytics, Personalization, DAM, Mobile Strategies, Tag Management, Social Media, etc.). • 3+ years’ experience working in digital media and/or digital marketing industry. • Experience evaluating & deciding on technology platforms, including rationalizing a datadriven build vs. buy decision. • Full understanding of system integration technologies & best practices. • Experience using Agile methodology & tools (i.e. Jira) to deliver projects. • Demonstrated ability to create, maintain and manage product backlogs & system roadmaps. • Experience working on digital media platforms, web technology & standards, cloud services, & mobile application platforms. • Experience translating business requirements into individual epics, features and user stories. • Excellent analytical, communication (both verbal and written), facilitation/organizational skills. • Liaise effectively with cross-functional business & technical teams. • Mastery of project management principles. • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically. • Ability to apply technology solutions to address business challenges. • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions. • Bachelor’s degree with a technical discipline or relevant.
