Senior Podcast Producer Presenter

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Senior Podcast Producer presenter is responsible for developing and managing digital audio programs across multiple podcast platforms. 

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties and responsibilities noted below are considered the essential functions of the job.

  • Plan episodes and finalize pitches.
  • Supervise research, interviews and writing of podcasts.
  • Provide feedback, review, and re-writes of final copies and tape.
  • lead with the producer and presenter in-field and studio recordings.
  • Contribute with MBN network of reporters and producers on partnerships for making episodes from around the World.
  • Grow the podcasts in quantity and quality.
  • Stay abreast of industry standards to ensure podcasts are meeting best practices.
  • Assist in developing and producing future podcasts.
  • Train interns and new staff on podcast techniques and best practices.
  • Manage podcast productions, including budgets, staffing and creative.
  • Work closely with MBN staff to identify and develops existing internal podcast opportunities.
  • Set KPIs for audience growth and continually evaluates performance.
  • Partner with cross-network teams on marketing and communication strategies.

   

    OTHER DUTIES:

    The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by events and circumstances.

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • At least a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, journalism, or relevant field.
    • At least 5 years of experience working in social media or analytics at a news organization.
    • Proven experience in developing host and producer talent.
    • Outstanding editorial/narrative judgement.
    • Highly skilled at writing, with a creative approach of storytelling.
    • Strong cross-departmental collaborative skills.
    • Scripting, editing, and sound quality/audio editing skills required.
    • Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment.
