Content Lead, Video, MBN Digital

The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a Content Lead, Video for our Digital Department to lead the editorial video content planning, production, and publishing across MBN’s digital platforms at our headquarters in Springfield, VA.

The Content Lead, Video creates & maintains the video production backlog of ideas & scripts while tying it to the overall editorial calendar of events for Alhurra Digital. The incumbent coordinates with other content leads the assignment of multimedia producers (in house and oversees) for good scripts flow.

The incumbent decides on what stories to produce, researches/develops video story ideas, and approves videos before posting. The Video Content Lead also writes, approves video scripts, and shapes the relevant visual concepts of scripts.

The Content Lead, Video provides visual editors with relevant footages & sources, effectively serves as a senior video editorial reference within the team during the shift, and ensures the team consistently meets their established goals and deadlines.

Candidates are required to have:

·        At least a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, or relevant field

·        A minimum of 5 years of Journalism experience.

·       Excellent editorial judgement with a mastery of journalistic ethics, copyrights and libel laws.

·       Excellent verbal and written Arabic and English communication skills.

·       Knowledge of the online and social media journalism.

·       Outstanding writing, rephrasing and subbing skills in Arabic.

·        Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment.
