Social Media Lead

 

The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a Social Media Lead  responsible to lead  to new audiences, communicating and demonstrating the podcasts and shows at our headquarters in Springfield, VA.

The Social Media Lead is responsible for ensuring our audio content gets the maximum reach and engagement across multiple platforms. The Social Media Lead  must take initiative and perform independently, with the ability to collaboratively work with other departments to get things fulfilled.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, with brilliant presentation and organizational skills.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and responsibilities noted below are considered to be the essential functions of the job

  • Identify areas of potential growth and implement new tools to enhance outreach impact of content. 
  • Develop full-cycle strategic and layered outreach campaigns with the rest of the team to maximize reach and impact and lead to achieving goals.
  • Organize and draft all vital communications to achieve outreach campaigns.
  • Plan events as needed. 
  • Regularly track and report progress and market shifts to stakeholders. 
  • Coordinate with the creative and development teams to create relevant, appealing, and impactful content across multiple platforms, and ensure brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to develop marketing outreach strategy.
  • Research designated markets to identify ideal partnerships, and growth opportunities. 
  • Help develop lightweight, repeatable processes, workflows, and content templates that keep the team nimble and successful.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor social media campaigns.
  • Work cross-functionally within the company to communicate audiences’ needs.
  • Provide direction on the development of creative and media assets.
  • Devise, experiment and embrace various social media tactics to create brand awareness and generate engagement that strengthen Sawa’s social media presence.
  • Assist with the creation original error-free, clear, and engaging copy for website content, promotional materials, and newsletters.
  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g., original text, photos, videos and stories).
  • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics and suggest/implement iterations accordingly.
  • Keep Sawa up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.

Candidates are required to have:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, journalism, or relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in content strategy, social media or analytics.
  • Demonstrated passion, knowledge, and experience in delivering social media content.
  • Excellent verbal and written Arabic and English communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of all types of online and social media analytics and insights.
  • Proven success and growth experimenting with and exploring new platforms to increase a brand or publication's social media presence.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels.
  • Expert at writing catchy yet meaningful headlines, as well as engaging social media content in general.
  • Proficiency in all social media insights and the top social media tools, such as Hootsuite, Crowd Tangle and Social Bakers.
  • Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule to support a 24/7 news environment.
