Associate Podcast Producer

 

The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking an Associate Podcast Producer to assists in the development of content for the audio content’s various editorial and administrative requirements, to drive compelling audio storytelling and contribute to enriching the output at our headquarters in Springfield, VA. The Associate Podcast Producer role resides within Sawa Digital team that produces several types of audio content.

The Associate Producer communicates efficiently with remote producers, senior producers, and others to help provide all the components required to build podcasts.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and responsibilities noted below are considered to be the essential functions of the job

  • Contribute to production of daily and weekly podcasts.
  • Manage day-to-day production schedules, book guests, conduct subject research, oversee season scheduling.
  • Help in research, coordinating, organizing materials, and getting good tape in production and postproduction. 
  • Develop and produce podcasts and help write and produce content for publication.
  • Active take part in pitch meetings and propose story ideas and angles.
  • Assist other team members with interview prep and logistics.
  • Pre-interview guests and prepares research material.
  • Edit podcast episodes using audio editing software and apps.
  • Ensures that all content published meet the standards and ethics of MBN.

Candidates are required to have:​​​​​​​

  • At least one year of experience in digital production, podcasting, or broadcasting.
  • Experience in audio journalism with the ability to edit audio.
  • Good communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Good writing, rephrasing, and subbing skills in Arabic.
  • Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment.
  • Proficient at scripting for the ear and working with co-hosts, reporters, and guests.
  • Eagerness to experiment with creating compelling audio storytelling.
