WSP is currently initiating a search for a Consultant Estimator to be located in our New York, NY office.

Your Impact

  • Review and evaluate cost estimates 
  • Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects 
  • Prepare estimates  at detail level. 
  • Ensure timely completion of estimates 
  • Understand scope of work to bid 
  • Manage bid pricing from all vendors 
  • Prepare cost analysis
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors 

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years related experience in architectural/heavy civil/structural/utility elements for infrastructure/buildings/vertical construction projects 
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering), Construction Management, or related
  • Demonstrated skill/experience in development of Conceptual through Bid Document crew-based or unit price cost estimates 
  • Strong knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff software and MS Office applications.
  • Able to read  plans and develop cost estimates 
  • Strong understanding of  construction processes 
  • Able to demonstrate progressively-increasing responsibility in estimating, working effectively with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge in use of HCSS HeavyBid, Sage Timberline, or other estimating software applications
  • Construction contractor estimating experience
