This Opportunity

WSP USA has an immediate opening for a part-time Project Director to support the company’s growing Sustainability, Energy, and Climate Change offering. See wsp.com/advancingsustainability for a description of our team and capabilities.

The individual will assist client-facing teams in the design, implementation, and management of organizational sustainability programs, with focus on climate and environmental justice programs. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility and capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Candidates should be passionate about sustainability and environmental justice, self-motivated and self-directed, collaborative, and able to produce high-quality work products.

Location of the position is Atlanta, GA

Your Impact

  • Within the context of sustainability initiatives, designing social impact performance targets and accompanying strategies and achievement plans
  • Analyzing renewable energy and other resource purchase options for environmental, social, and financial impacts
  • Researching leading sustainability and environmental justice programs and initiatives
  • Developing opportunities for integrating climate justice elements into organizations’ strategic sustainability roadmaps 
  • Producing reports, disclosures, and other communications
  • Developing and facilitating inclusive workshops with diverse stakeholder perspectives
  • Managing projects and directing the efforts of individual contributors

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred in public policy, environmental studies, community and economic development, engineering, energy, sustainability, or related field
  • Experience in community organizing, sustainability, energy, and/or management consulting is preferred

  • Familiarity or direct experience with clean energy access, corporate sustainability and renewable energy procurement practices
  • Familiarity or direct experience with US-based environmental and climate justice organizations and campaigns
  • Capability in community involvement and stakeholder engagement with multicultural populations
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and participation in collaborations focused on energy equity and environmental justice
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence, and integrity
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and use of programs including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to collaborate remotely across geographies and platforms
