This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Delivery Manager for our Northern California District that includes San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, and Reno, NV.

The Project Delivery Manager (PDM) supports the District Operations Manager (DOM) with primary responsibility for reviewing the district’s projects across all business lines through all phases including pursuit, project initiation, project monitoring and project closeout.  The PDM will work with the Region, District and Area Management teams to assist Project Managers (PMs) in the successful delivery of quality projects in terms of both client satisfaction and preserved margin.  The PDM position can be based in any WSP Area Office within the Northern California District.

Your Impact

  • Support District Operations Manager by providing consultation and reporting, including reporting on potential project issues that could impact project or cost center performance.
  • Support the district Business Development Director with assessment of opportunities and budgets.
  • Partner with Business Line Leads on all operational aspects of the business.
  • Help develop action plans, and monitor all projects working with the PMs, District Operations Manager, Business Line Leads, District Finance and District Project Accounting to ensure successful margin preservation.
  • Support, train and mentor PM’s to ensure the success of the project and client satisfaction.
  • Provide project and district financial analyses and coordination with District West Finance Manager.
  • Assist in the annual budget process to include forecasting, monitoring, analysis and recovery planning.
  • Travel to district offices as necessary to perform Project Delivery Manager duties.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement and implementation of the Project Delivery process.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for enhancement of overall project performance and project management practices.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the District Operations Manager, District Manager and ROM.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience.
  • BA/BS Degree in Business, Engineering, Planning, or equivalent discipline.
  • Project Management experience including managing large publicly and privately funded transportation and infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office products and web based collaboration utilities.
  • Ability to engage in occasional travel throughout the district.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Alternative Delivery methods
  • Business Development experience including development of cost proposals
  • Contract analysis experience
  • Experience developing and delivering training
  • Advanced degree(s)
