WHO WE ARE:

We are a leading specialty retailer of casual apparel, footwear and accessories for young men, young women, boys and girls with an extensive assortment of iconic global, emerging, and proprietary brands rooted in an active and social lifestyle. We are based out of sunny Southern California at the Tilly’s RSC. You’ll hear the term RSC a lot, it stands for Retail Support Center since our corporate offices are here to support our retail and online stores.

 

SUMMARY:

The following is a brief description of responsibilities to be performed by the District Manager. 

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors and ensures high standards of Customer Service and selling practices by enforcement of the “Tilly’s Six Steps to Customer Service” Program.
  • Monitors Store sales performance, productivity, results and accountability.
  • Analyzes sales and merchandise to identify business opportunities and concerns.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires and retains high caliber Store personnel to ensure employee retention.
  • Understands, supports and complies with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes Company tools to provide continuous training to Store personnel ensuring awareness and skill development in Customer Service, Loss Prevention and Visual Merchandising.
  • Utilizes Independent Development Plans and Performance Planning and Evaluations to provide feedback on Store Manager’s job performance.
  • Understands, supports and complies with Federal, State and local employment practices and laws.
  • Audits each Store for compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Manages payroll hours and payroll dollars to achieve wage cost goals.
  • Protects Company assets through enforcing Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
  • Ensures Store execution of Visual Updates, promotional and visual merchandising directives.
  • Monitors and ensures follow-through of Store maintenance, cleanliness and Store repairs.
  • Communicates weekly District information to Regional Manager and RSC business partners regarding merchandise mix, inventory levels, best sellers, merchandise requests.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, leadership and self-confidence.
  • Represents District as a mentor, pro-active leader and problem solver.
  • Fosters a work environment that inspires trust, respect, professionalism and teamwork to achieve goals.
  • Encourages team building while developing Store Managers to be independent and confident.
  • Remains flexible and responsive while demonstrating an “ownership” mentality.
  • Exhibits a sense of urgency when reacting to Store issues.
  • Understands, enforces and supports all Tilly’s policies, procedures and directives ensuring compliance.
  • Provides RSC management with accurate, timely, well-thought out paperwork, projects, assignments and new ideas.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
  • Flexibility in work schedule and hours including; weekends, holidays and peak selling periods.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly by air and/or car, with overnight stays, as business dictates.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Able to effectively use common office equipment.
  • Ability to reprioritize projects frequently.
  • Proven leadership, motivational, development and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a demanding and continuously evolving environment.
  • Ability to take the initiative to handle situations effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Accepts feedback and direction from all levels of the organization, handling it appropriately.
  • Adheres to Company guidelines of dependability, including attendance requirements.
  • Presents self well which includes appropriate dress, cleanliness and appropriate verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of current fashion trends and styles.
  • Basic laptop proficiency.
  • Must have ability to multitask.
  • Independent, self-motivated, team player.
  • Able to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years of experience of multi-Store management.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
