Work Location

This position is only eligible for in office/branch work arrangements, with eligible work locations in Bend, Forest Park, and Springfield, Oregon.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: The base salary for the Personal Lines Specialist position is $4,500 per month, that may decrease after three years if minimum production goals are not achieved.
  • Commissions: This position is eligible to earn commissions in addition to the base salary.  These commissions range from 20% to 60% per sold policy, depending on the product type. Commission amounts are paid in the amount exceeding the base salary.   
  • Incentives: This position is eligible for a monthly incentive typically ranging from $175 to $375.

Position Overview

Generate insurance sales and preserve existing clients and policies.

SELCO Core Essential Functions

Position-specific Essential Functions

  1. Generate insurance sales through external contacts and internal referrals and service existing policies.
  2. Finalize insurance sales by ensuring documentation is accurately completed in a timely manner.

Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; and
  2. Three (3) years of sales experience in insurance products; and
  3. Valid Property & Casualty License from the State of Oregon is required; and Life & Health License (this requirement may be waived for the first 90 days of employment); and
  4. Valid Driver’s License; and
  5. Must be bondable.

Physical Demands

While performing the job duties, approximately 85% of the time is spent stationary, with the remaining time spent moving around work areas. Frequent communication occurs in person, over the phone, and in writing. This position requires the ability to view a computer screen and interpret printed materials and other documents. This position requires the ability to lift and transport up to 5 pounds, and there is an occasional need to stoop, kneel, or reach to access documents, equipment, and supplies.

Interaction and Work Environment

Reports to: Vice President Insurance Services
Work areas are inside in a climate-controlled environment with background noise.

Computer, phone, scanner, copier, fax machine, web camera, and general office supplies
