POSITION SUMMARY

KPFF is looking for a motivated and experienced Structural Engineering Leader for the New York City Metropolitan area. This role involves leading a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, and delivering high-quality results to our valued clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineering Leader with a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience in building design, including expertise in new construction and renovation. The ideal candidate should be proficient in project management from inception to completion. Strong networking skills within the A/E/C community and a proven track record of fostering positive relationships with design and construction teams are essential for this role.

  • Is a Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in NY, NJ
  • Possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and has 8 years or more of project experience.
  • Has at least 2 years of experience successfully leading teams larger than five people.
  • Has a personal brand in the A/E/C community and wants to leverage this to create something special, scalable, and perpetual.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Has the self-awareness to ask for help when needed and listen with a curious, open mind; this candidate has strong emotional intelligence.
  • Can attract and inspire new employees to believe in a compelling vision to bring something great to New York City.
  • Can mentor team members and engage in the overall leadership of the office to propel a growth strategy.
  • Can oversee projects from proposal to completion; has a proficient understanding of load path, whole building systems, mechanics of building materials, and can evaluate/assess/manage risk.
  • Delivers excellence in communication and construction documents and enjoys being part of a team to complete the project.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Maintaining the same position for several hours
  • Walking throughout office or site visits
  • Operate a computer, calculator, and various other essential office tools
  • Kneeling, climbing, crawling, squatting, reaching
  • Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds
