Engagements Lead (Engagement Action Officer - Journeyman)

Location: NCR (Hybrid: Onsite and Telework) 

Clearance: TS/SCI 

Education: BA/BS (or AA/AS and an additional 4 years of related experience) 

Outcomes: 

The successful candidate is expected to accomplish the following outcomes during the first year in the position:  

  • Formally track all tasks, to include: assigned by, suspense, status, and comments on all assigned tasks through completion and be prepared to brief upon request. 

  • Develop digital continuity folders and files that include standard operating procedures, workflows and POC lists to accomplish all tasks. 

  • Create 2-3 products beyond the client’s requirements that positively impact the client to either increase efficiency, effectiveness, or innovation. 

  • Master position tasks within 60 days and exceed requirements within 90 days. 

Responsibilities: 

The Engagements Lead leads the planning, coordinating, and execution of the SAF/CDMX engagement process, ensuring seamless coordination and execution from start to finish. This includes validating updates to the engagements tracker, coordinating Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) assignments, synchronizing the SAF/CDMX Director’s calendar for engagement attendance, conducting senior leadership engagement briefings, and completing post-engagement follow-ups with OPRs to document outcomes and drive continuous improvement. Facilitates the flow of engagement information both within the organization and externally to relevant stakeholders. This also includes managing the Engagements Repository, a database of artifacts related to each tracked engagement, serving as a historical record of SAF/CDMX participation and messaging, and supporting leadership decisions with briefings, white papers, and other reports. Drives process improvement and stakeholder strategies and engagement processes. Maintains clearance as appropriate to the engagements being coordinated. Per section 1.3.13.1 of the PWS, specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Work, through Government liaisons, with CCMDs, Unified Commands, DoD components and IC agencies to help shape and enable MPE multinational information sharing capabilities with coalition and mission partners.  

  • Engagement, policy, requirements, Planning, Programing, Budgeting and Support operational and tactical engagement, policy, requirements, Planning, Programing, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE),  

  • Support technical and operational tasks across military operations, exercises, demonstrations, improvements, enhancements and operations and sustainment of extant and emerging capabilities across the MPE portfolio. 

  • Support CCMDs and Services, through Government liaisons, include: INDOPACOM (NCR), EUCOM (NCR), AFRICOM (NCR), USSOCOM/CENTCOM (Tampa, FL), USSOUTHCOM (NCR), USSPACEFORCE (NCR), Services and Non-Designated CCMDs (NCR) and any other DoD MPE stakeholders as directed by the Government to support current and emerging operational needs. 

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of defense policies, regulations, and directives.  

  • Provide recommendations to support the formulation of effective strategies and engagement activities.  

  • Develop action plan for engagement activities, including briefings, meetings, and events, to promote dialogue. 

  • Facilitate effective communication between different organizational units, personnel, and external entities to ensure cohesive engagement efforts and information sharing.

Qualifications: 

The candidate must have the following qualifications: 

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience,  

  • Minimum of four (4) years of specific functional experience in support of a DOD component. 

  • In depth understanding of DOD operations, structure, and functions., including familiarity with joint military operations, command structures, and interagency coordination. 

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies to effectively plan, organize, and execute operational initiatives. 

  • Capable of overseeing work of others. 

  • Ability to communication verbally and in writing with the highest levels of management. 

  • Familiarity with defense acquisition regulations and processes. 

The following qualifications are desired: 

  • Experience supporting the SAF/CDMX mission and an understanding of SAF/CDMX institutional processes 

  • Preferably, a background in military operations or experience working within the DOD to understand the unique operational environment and culture.  

  • Experience in Operational Support, providing support to senior staff in planning, coordinating, and executing operational activities, including logistics, scheduling, and resource management  

  • Ability to develop strategic sourcing strategies to achieve operational efficiencies. 

  • Ability to assess operational risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and contribute to operational continuity planning. 

  • PMP 

Travel: Minimal local travel between organizational sites.
