(PACO) is excited to announce an opportunity for a highly skilled and driven Civil Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in support of the Gateway Program – NJ Transit Phase A project. This transformational program aims to enhance transportation infrastructure and improve regional connectivity through cutting-edge engineering solutions. As a Civil Engineering SME, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transportation, providing expert guidance and technical leadership to drive success in this critical initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer advanced technical expertise in civil engineering design, planning, and execution to support the program’s infrastructure goals.

  • Conduct thorough reviews of project plans, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure alignment with standards, best practices, and project milestones.

  • Develop and implement innovative design strategies, solutions, and improvements to overcome engineering challenges and enhance efficiency.

  • Serve as a key advisor to project managers, design teams, and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to optimize project outcomes.

  • Perform feasibility studies, risk assessments, and quality control evaluations to mitigate risks and maintain the highest standards of quality and performance.

  • Assess contractor submissions, technical reports, and deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

  • Prepare compelling technical documentation, reports, and presentations to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Lead decision-making processes by offering strategic insights and engineering expertise to drive project success.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in civil engineering or large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

  • Extensive knowledge of transportation infrastructure, design standards, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Proven experience working with NJ Transit or similar public transportation agencies is a strong advantage.

  • Proficiency in engineering software, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in remote work environments while managing priorities and deadlines.
