SUMMARY:

The following is a brief description of responsibilities to be performed by the Jr. Network Administrator. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Infrastructure & Systems Management:

·         Design, document, test, and maintain computer programs and automation workflows related to warehouse management systems (WMS), machine operating systems, and IoT devices in the distribution center

·         Support and optimize virtualized and containerized server environments, including VM provisioning, patch management, and cloud-hybrid infrastructure integration

·         Manage and maintain core infrastructure including wireless systems, edge computing devices, and network security appliances.

Operational Technology Support:

·         Provide day-to-day support for distribution center operations, including barcode scanning equipment, mobile computers, automated label printers, RFID systems, and smart warehouse devices

·         Support integration between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems, ensuring seamless data flow and system reliability

·         Monitor automated material handling equipment connectivity and troubleshoot network-related issues

Identity & Access Management:

·         Administer Microsoft 365/Azure AD (Entra ID) environment, including user provisioning, DNS, DHCP, and hybrid identity services

·         Manage and maintain zero-trust security principles and multi-factor authentication (MFA) systems

·         Support identity governance and access reviews for compliance requirements

Monitoring, Security & Incident Response:

·         Monitor environment health using modern observability tools, AI-powered analytics, and automated alerting systems

·         Provide incident response, problem resolution, and root cause analysis support

·         Assist in cybersecurity initiatives including endpoint detection and response (EDR), vulnerability management, and security awareness programs

Collaboration & Documentation:

·         Consult with stakeholders to determine hardware, software, and system requirements for business operations

·         Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles

·         Participate in IT projects supporting digital transformation and operational efficiency initiatives

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

·         5+ years of desktop and end-user support experience.

·         5+ years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory and supporting services (DNS, DHCP).

·         Knowledge of networking technologies including Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, wireless standards (Wi-Fi 6/6E), and basic network security.

·         Familiarity with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware, or similar) and cloud services (Azure, AWS, or similar)

·         Understanding of automation tools, scripting (PowerShell, Python, or similar), and modern IT service management (ITSM) platforms

·         Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment

·         Excellent communication and customer service skills

·         Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge.

·         Ability to multitask and reprioritize projects frequently.

·         Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and solve problems.

·         Experience with VMware vSphere (6.x+), a plus.

·         Experience Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

·         Experience with Meraki and/or Cisco Networking, including switching and wireless networking.

·         Experience supporting a warehouse environment.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

·         High School Diploma required.

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

·         Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+/Network+/Server+/Security+, Microsoft and Cisco certifications, or similar) are a plus
