JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking motivated Civil CAD Designers with AutoCAD Civil 3D experience, preferably in site development, to join our growing team.  You’ll have the opportunity to use your experience to play a key role in the production of civil engineering plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.  You will collaborate with our team of engineers, drafters, and surveyors, guided by a Project Manager and with the support of other team members.  Our commitment to training and development will allow you to grow in your career and take on new responsibilities. 

We are looking for team members who are passionate about making an impact in their work and community, who have effective technical and communication skills to work with internal teams and clients.  You’ll collaborate with internal team members and be responsible for the overall presentation and drawing appearance. 

Our typical scope of services includes preparing civil engineering plans and technical specifications, grading plans, drainage plans, storm water quality design, sustainable design, utility improvements, roadway infrastructure design, and ADA code compliance assessments.


As a Civil CAD Designer, you may be responsible for:

 

  • Creating civil engineering plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • 3D Modeling of civil engineering design for grading and utilities
  • Applying established CAD standards
  • Preparing and editing plans, profiles, sections and details from rough sketches, redline mark-ups, and verbal instruction from team members
  • Presentation and overall drawing appearance
  • Maintaining organization of project drawing files
  • Coordinating with engineers and team members
  • Opportunity to train other team members in AutoCAD and Civil 3D


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 3 years of relevant CAD experience, preferable in site development.
  • Good communication skills, and ability to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of industry CAD standards and civil engineering plans.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to concurrently manage multiple priorities.
  • Associate’s Degree or certificate in Civil Design Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), or similar field.
  • Working knowledge of typical computer software programs used for civil engineering design (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Willingness to mentor entry-level engineers, drafters and interns in AutoCAD.
  • Experience creating or modifying AutoCAD styles and LISP routines a plus.
