Responsibilities:  (varies upon role)

Field Operations

  • Lead or independently execute field projects with precision.
  • Engage with engineering teams, providing vital data to facilitate site development.
  • Lead construction staking and layout surveys, contributing to project infrastructure.

Equipment Management and Maintenance

  • Operate advanced surveying instruments ensuring accurate data collection.
  • Train and mentor field technicians to master the listed responsibilities.
  • Acquire all necessary permits and clearances from appropriate local entities.

Survey Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze data meticulously and prepare detailed survey reports.
  • Oversee the preparation of plats, legal descriptions, and topographic maps that comply with industry standards.
  • Proficiently perform training, data collection, and quality checks for survey fieldwork.

Leadership and Business Strategy

  • Manage and execute detailed land surveys, utilizing sophisticated technology for precise mapping.
  • Direct and guide survey team members, promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Examine survey markets to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.

 

Qualifications: (varies upon role)

Experience

  • ​Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering
  • Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
  • Proficiency in operating advanced surveying instruments and software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong knowledge of land surveying techniques and practices
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and standards

Leadership and Project Management

  • Project management skills
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to engage with clients and maintain strong relationships
  • Write project proposals and collaborate with clients to meet their surveying needs
  • Function as surveyor of record on survey projects

Field Operations and Management

  • Ability to lead a crew or work alone with the appropriate field equipment
  • Provide efficient, accurate, and complete survey fieldwork
  • Take field notes including depiction sketches, provide field calculations and construction staking
  • Provide equipment calibration and maintenance
