S3, Inc. is a rapidly growing woman owned small business founded in 1991, headquartered in Huntsville, AL, that provides technical, programmatic, and logistic services to U.S. Department of Defense, other U.S. Government agencies, and Partner Nation militaries, co-located with Government requirements. The S3, Inc. staff is 80% veterans. The company operates under an ISO 9001/AS9100 certified Quality Management System.
S3, Inc. has wholly owned subsidiaries that expand the customer base and increase our annual growth rate: KBFS – provides aviation pilot training, heavy lift, aircraft maintenance, and related aircraft services to Government and commercial requirements IAW multiple FAA certifications; S3I – provides OCONUS FMS technical services, maintenance, and aviation platform training; S3 Arabia (S3A), a subsidiary of S3 operates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and GLSS – provides SCA/CBA contract aviation maintenance.
S3, Inc. is seeking a General Manager (GM) for our subsidiary KBFS to work at our home office in Huntsville, AL. KBFS has 3 operating sites: Geneva, AL, Crestview FL, and Temple, TX. The operations are detailed on the company’s website.
The GM will have 10 years of demonstrated industry experience with commercial aviation pilot training, airfield operations (refueling) and aviation maintenance (fixed and rotary wing). Neither government nor military experience addresses this requirement.
Salary range is $140-160K, dependent on experience. There is a $10,000.00 hire-in bonus.
Military experience is a plus. This is not a teleworking position.
Job Description:
The KBFS GM is accountable for strategic level leadership, P&L, management, and strategic vision necessary to ensure that the subsidiary has the proper operational controls, administrative staff, reporting procedures, and personnel in place to cost effectively execute the missions and grow the organization. The GM is accountable for the financial strength and operating efficiency to generate the projected profitability and to effectively manage the highest areas of risk for commercial aviation operations. The GM establishes and maintains the operational culture and ethics of KBFS to ensure both the integrity and operational safety of the sites. With this accountability, the GM functions as a senior management team member of S3 . The GM is responsible for development and execution of a 3 year business plan for KBFS, with direct management of government and commercial programs. The GM briefs the CEO quarterly on the financial viability of each of the operational sites, inclusive of a path to profitability within a quarter, and for compliance to future growth growth targets.
Responsibilities:
F&A:
· Develops operating budgets and business plans to support company objectives and executive approved plans; P&L accountability.
· Accountable to the CEO and Director of Finance for profitability and annual growth of 10% while sustaining that profitability.
· Plans, organizes, and directs all business development and marketing functions, coordinating and cooperating with other technical departments.
Business Development:
· Serves as primary customer for program and department information.
· Regularly interfaces with customer representatives to maintain open communications and to develop and expand business opportunities.
Quality:
· Ensures that the subsidiary maintains total responsiveness to customer requirements. Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, and discipline of assigned employees.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering with 15 years industry aviation program management experience in pilot training, airfield refuel, and ISR training.
· Significant and demonstrated P&L accountability to C Suite executives for commercial aviation operations in training, airfield operations, and maintainability.
· Extensive knowledge of military and commercial flight with COCO operations, fixed base operations, and maintenance.
· Both military and commercial industry aviation leadership experience and working knowledge of commercial aviation maintenance procedures.for rotary and fixed winf aircraft.
· Thorough knowledge of and experience with FAA rules and regulations.
· Experience in federal contract management, FAR/DFARS, profit and loss, aviation insurance, and aviation safety requirements.
· Ability to support 30% travel to field office sites in Geneva, AL (airfield refuel operations), Crestview, FL, (IRS training), and Temple, TX, (aviation training with fixed and rotary aircraft).
