LOCATION: Lakeshore College – Cleveland, Wisconsin
POSITION SUMMARY: Facilitate learning and assess student performance for simulated tactical skills activities for Criminal Justice students. Promote a learning atmosphere in the tactical skills classroom/lab/simulation area. Maximize the operation of the tactical skills lab/simulation area and validate the performance of student's skills. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):

• Provide guided practice, adjust instruction based on student feedback, address special learning needs, provide corrective instruction, assist students with learning activities, adapt instruction to students' various learning styles and answer student questions.
• Assess student affective performance, assess student cognitive performance, assess student psychomotor performance, assess students' ability to integrate skills, and validate students' performance of tactical skills and exercises.
(10%)
• Manage classroom/laboratory, enforce school policies, develop and present safety procedures, and establish classroom procedures.
• Promote a learning atmosphere in the tactical skills lab, which encourages effective work habits and provides a safe, clean, and orderly physical environment.
• Serve as a resource person for students.
• Setup and take down the tactical skills equipment and lab prior to and at the end of training and maintain equipment at the level of stated educational specifications.

• Provide the Criminal Justice Tactical Instructor(s) with informational feedback regarding tactical and simulated activities.
• Assist the Criminal Justice Tactical Instructor with the maintenance of student records.
• Provide feedback to students and the Tactical Instructor(s) about problems/progress encountered during training.
• Cooperate with other activities scheduled in the tactical skills lab. Implement policies of the lab.
• Suggest materials and equipment for requisition.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Two-year related associate degree with two years’ recent relevant work experience in the appropriate tactical skills area and a proven record of tactical skills competence and the evaluation of those skills.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
• Certified as a Tactical Skills Instructor in the State of Wisconsin.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
• Be familiar with basic hardware; create a simple text document in MS Word; use and maintain voice mail; use file manager; use network file manager; use and maintain a personal calendar; navigate through Windows; access college network system; understand database concepts; send and receive attachments; navigate through the Internet; schedule meetings; use email to communicate.
• Develop materials using presentation software; Use MS PowerPoint or similar presentation technology; Set up and use a lap top and printer; Manage and create reports using MS Word; Create a basic MS Excel spreadsheet; Use video conferencing; Use database queries; Use scanning techniques equipment; Create simple charts and graphs. Access and use Project Management systems.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Proven ability to create timely and relevant dashboards reflecting digital activity and engagement across multiple platforms.
• Ability to collaborate with Marketing, Recruitment, and Student Success team members in order to develop actionable tactics based on analytical insights.
• Experience with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact, and the ability to manage related analytics.
• Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking skills, computer technology skills and abilities, problem-solving, attention to detail, prioritizing, decision-making, and follow-through skills essential.
• Ability to plan and set goals and follow-through to completion and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to proactively learn platform updates and stay abreast of platform enhancements and changes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and ability to analyze the design of business systems.
• Ability to work in a constantly changing environment.
• Strong customer service, organizational and time management skills.
• Exemplify college values in all staff and student interactions, as well as services delivered.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and relate successfully with staff, students, and people of diverse cultural, social, or educational backgrounds.
• Fluent, bilingual individual is beneficial.
