Position Summary

Rebar is seeking an analytical and self-motivated individual to fill the role of Business Analyst (BA) with a specialization in data design and management. This individual will engage directly with clients to understand evolving business requirements and design solutions, then work with a development team to produce and test resulting software. A major element of the role will involve design and population of the database required to support the system. The role is ideal for a flexible candidate who is a quick learner, can communicate in an interdisciplinary team, and has the capability to learn technical skills. The BA/Data role has various requirements and responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Strong understanding of front-office trading operations (both electronic and manual)

  • Familiarity with a broad range financial instruments, both from a trading and data content perspective. This will include both OTC and Exchange traded instruments, and will include cash and derivatives instruments covering the Equity, FX, Commodity, Credit, and Debt markets.

  • Familiarity with both design and use of relational and No-SQL databases.

  • Ability to write and maintain basic SQL scripts.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to develop an understanding of complex systems and interfaces.

  • Ability to gathering business requirements from clients and express those requirements in written form for use by developers.

  • Ability to create UI mockups/wireframes

  • Ability to support clients during software deployments

  • Testing software for quality assurance

  • Project management in an Agile framework
