Description

The Public Relations Assistant Manager within The Pokémon Company International’s Consumer Marketing group is responsible for supporting Public Relations (PR) initiatives and campaigns across the Pokémon brand’s portfolio of consumer products, entertainment, video games, and mobile applications. The Assistant Manager will work closely with a team of PR Managers and the Senior Manager, Consumer Marketing (PR) to coordinate communications materials, campaigns, events, and other PR activities.

What You Will Do

  • Provide general support to the PR and Communications function at The Pokémon Company International
  • Assist in the sourcing and gathering of information from internal stakeholders and in collaboration with additional members of the communications and PR team to develop PR materials, strategies, and campaigns
  • Draft select PR materials such as press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, Q+A’s
  • Route and track PR materials through approvals processes with a variety on internal and external stakeholders

  • Review content from across the organization for brand appropriateness and positive positioning
  • Research and maintain media lists
  • Liaise with external agency partners
  • Provide event support in a PR capacity
  • Compile and develop PR reports and presentations
  • Coordinate, submit, and track vendor materials, contracts, invoices, and other materials through internal approval processes
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of editorial and influencer trends for press and industries related to our business to support communications and PR team colleagues in executing topical and best in class programs

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor of Arts or Sciences, preferably in communications, journalism, marketing, or equivalent working experience
  • At least 3 years progressive experience in communications and or public relations (agency or in-house) 
  • preferably with family entertainment, consumer products and/or video games.
  • Strong desire to gain experience in public relations in a supporting role
  • Interest in popular culture and video games is a plus

What to Expect

We offer a professional, fun and creative work environment. While we maintain a good balance between work and life, additional hours may be required at peak times or for specific initiatives. This position may require occasional domestic or international business travel (10-15%).
