The Copywriter (Ecommerce Operations) communicates the brand voice both internally and externally in digital materials (printed as required) focused around Omnichannel programs with an ultimate goal to engage the customer to drive traffic and conversion both online and in-store.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Write and proof-read all copy (including product descriptions, any romance copy) in alignment with brand, vendors and business objectives
  • Work with vendors to obtain information required for product descriptions
  • Liaise with online merchants and internal team members to clarify copy points and research as required
  • Meet onboarding KPIs for copywriting function
  • Update and maintain all tracking related to copywriting function in the onboarding process
  • Work with the Manager, Omnichannel Product Onboarding, to review and forecast resource requirements for copywriting function
  • As required, coordinate and review copywriting as provided by 3rd party contractors
  • Creative support for the Omnichannel team to build a strong strategic voice to support overall marketing campaigns that is aligned with overall brand voice
  • Work closely with Digital Marketing and online Merchandising to define requirements and deliver compelling, integrated messaging across all touch points
  • Provide creative and innovative solutions that support’s Holt Renfrew’s market leadership
  • Develop a deep understanding of product, consumers, competitors and industry trends and provide insights and recommendations
  • Assist in Omnichannel projects such as asset collection from vendors
  • Assist with copy writing to support other teams outside of Omnichannel
  • As required, develop online messaging for Omnichannel digital programs including: subject lines, copy for all e-newsletters, copy for all landing pages
  • As required, proof-read and edit marketing materials being produced by the Digital Marketing team

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a post graduate degree or diploma in Marketing/Communications or within a related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in copywriting, preferably digital
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required
  • Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow up skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual with a fluency in French oral and written would be an asset
