The Analyst, Allocation partners to enhance the customer experience while achieving the business full price sell-thru targets through the proper allocation of merchandise according to brand, sales, inventory trend and forecast.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

Develop knowledge and understanding of product performance in each store and region profile through performance analysis, store communication and merchandise discussions with the Buying and Store teams.

Managing Merchandise Inventory

  • Consolidations: prepare the analytics to recommend cost effective consolidations, execute and follow up to achieve 100% compliance.
  • RTVs: execute the end to end process to achieve 100% compliance.
  • Re-allocation of merchandise inventory as per sales and inventory performance by store.
  • Execute the weekly distribution of inventory allocated to Distribution Center (92).

Reporting and Analysis

  • Provide in depth analysis and feedback on allocations to accommodate the changes in trend and the mix of the store assortment in collaboration with planning, buying and stores.
  • Provide assistance with markdowns as required.
  • Inventory risk reporting and analysis pertaining to seasonality, pricing and commodity.

Communication

  • Build strong partnership with planners to understand the financial implications of business decisions that affect inventory, sales and margin.
  • Build strong relationships with the buying team to understand assortment strategies and brand/vendor behaviour that effects the inventory position by sku and store to maximize full price sell through.
  • Attend store walkthroughs with planning & buying teams.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnership [DC/Logistics, Stores, BI Team], for a seamless end to end process on all inventory related matters.
  • Compile and provide content for the Weekly Store Communication on Allocation and Stock Movement.
  • Perform other duties, as requested.

The ideal candidate:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of successful analytical experience in a retail organization
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and customer service skills
  • Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
