Manager, Trade Marketing (12 Month Contract)

 The Manager, Merchant Marketing supports the DVP of Merchant Marketing across a range of commodities (e.g. Ready to Wear, Accessories, Leased, Cosmetics, etc.) in all aspects of marketing the divisional vendor marketing programs to deliver on divisional sales targets. This role works in tandem with the Fashion Office to ensure all marketing programming supports the Merchant business priorities, as well as cross-functionally across marketing, creative, merchant and store teams to ensure all aspects of vendor marketing programs are delivered with excellence and on time to our stores.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • In conjunction with the DVP, Merchant Marketing oversee the execution of multi cross functional marketing programs that deliver sales, coop and drive store traffic that support the vendor divisional business strategies
  • Manage the daily functionality of:
    • Managing work back, program flow and implementation with both internal and external teams ensuring all program deliverables are met on budget and on time
    • Overseeing marketing briefs for all merchant marketing programs ensuring accuracy with timing, targeting as well as manage all approvals for programs
    • Ensuring multiple divisional marketing calendars, project status; priorities calendars updates are all accurate and updated in a timely manner
    • Supporting with preparation of marketing strategies for key vendor seasonal/annual business reviews including program and budget forecast, post mortems, ROI, brand & division customer analytic overviews and new strategic ideas
    • Supporting with preparation of internal and external presentations to communicate divisional marketing strategies, plans, vendor proposals and tactics as required (e.g. GM conference & vendor meeting inputs, vendor proposals)
  • Analyze seasonally, CRM analytic reports by division, department and brand with key insights to guide vendor program decisions in relation to company objectives and brand growth goals
  • Manage annual budget planning with direct responsibility for monthly division forecasting, ongoing billing and tracking of all vendor expenses and vendor coop collection for all merchant marketing initiatives
  • Prioritize project/event/initiative implementations including critical paths, monitoring of progress, development of launch materials, communication and results tracking
  • Effectively manage and lead the Specialist team to deliver flawless execution “end to end” of all final negotiated vendor marketing programs ensuring full integration. Programs may include but are not limited to; Holts seasonal campaigns, digital, paid media, business selling activities, special events, visual & merchandising installations and consumer buying occasion programs
  • Takes the opportunity to champion specific projects
  • Manage expenses within approved budget and achieve all expense management targets
  • Complies with all Health & Safety policies and requirements
  • Lead, motivate, and retain a team of high performing employees that is capable of delivering results

The ideal candidate:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field
  • 5-7 years of post-university work experience, including 2+ years supervisory of management experience
  • CRM analytical knowledge an asset
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required
  • Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change 
  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow up skills
  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
