The Copywriter will work closely with Copywriting, Creative, Marketing, and more to provide creative support across the business and communicate the essence of the brand by executing on all marketing initiatives and collateral that delivers on Holt Renfrew’s brand positioning, drives sales, and creates excitement for the company, ultimately cultivating an elevated customer experience.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Create and manage website, social, email, and print marketing copy that aligns with the brand voice and overall strategic directive of the Marketing Department
  • Create and manage copy and product cutlines for our seasonal editorial content
  • Ensure marketing and editorial content is current, relevant to the Holts customer, and positions Holt Renfrew as the go-to resource for style inspiration, cultural moments, and must-have brands   
  • Liaise with the Art Department to ensure the creation of visual assets and layouts best support content objectives
  • Manage French translation requests from the Translation Team for relevant assigned projects
  • Work closely with Marketing, Content Strategy, PR & Events, CRM, Ecommerce, VM, Brand & Creative Strategy, Store Experience, and National Operations departments to deliver compelling, integrated messaging across all touch points: digital, print, direct, OOH, and in-store promotional material
  • Ensure all content, both editorial and promotional, commits to the highest standards of the brand and ladders up to specific marketing objectives
  • Proofread and edit all marketing and editorial content
  • Closely monitor popular trends that both directly and indirectly influence fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and sustainability to help guide both marketing and editorial content
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a post graduate degree or diploma in Marketing/Communications or within a related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in copywriting, preferably at a brand or agency
  • Strong attention to detail with a good understanding of typography and design
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual with a fluency in French would be an asset
