Develops, plans, coordinates and performs operational, financial and compliance audits. Performs NERC reliability risk assessments; reliability control updates; and reliability control testing and coordination. Also plans, organizes, and conducts complex, sensitive audits and investigations in response to direct requests from Senior Management.
Assists internal audit management with increasing departmental efficiencies, assessing audit needs, department metrics, status reporting, and internal controls consulting. Works with Corporate management and staff to develop cost effective internal control improvements and help foster a positive control-conscious environment.
Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field.
Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of professional auditing, accounting or related industry experience required. Experience with top tier public accounting firm and financial accounting and reporting desired. Electric utility industry and NERC compliance controls experience also preferred
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or other certifications relevant to the internal auditing profession strongly desired
Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; proficiency with the personal computer and Microsoft Office software; strong working knowledge of Internal Auditing standards and NERC reliability standards; strong internal control background; prior experience with enterprise-wide risk management processes preferred; knowledge of ACL a plus; facilitation experience a plus.
