Accountant I, General Accountant


Description

Provide accounting assistance to various areas of the department.  Assist with Project Accounting, Fixed Asset accounting, Accounts Receivable and other functional areas.

Duties include: (1) Provide assistance to the fixed assets and project areas.  This includes learning the PowerPlan and TPOP systems and using them to issue project numbers and retire assets.  Prepare reconciliations of accounts for CWIP and Plant in Service.  Prepare various reports as requested.  (2) Provide assistance to the Transmission Accounting Manager with invoicing and accounts receivable. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education: BA, BS, BBA or MBA in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
 
Experience: None required
Equivalent Experience: BA, BS or BBA with non-accounting concentration, supplemented with at least thirty quarter hours or twenty semester hours in college level accounting courses. Non-business related degree with four years accounting experience.  Strong analytical skills.
 
Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills.  Knowledge and competency in the use of desk top computers and software to include spreadsheet software (Excel).
