Position:         Senior Knowledge Management Specialist

Location:        Fairfax, VA

Clearance:      TS/SCI

Education:     Master’s Degree

Outcomes:

The successful candidate is expected to accomplish the following outcomes in the first year on the position: Outcome 1.

  • Document all duties with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and create a desk book on all duties performed 

  • Create electronic transition files on all duties performed. 

  • Provide one or two products above and beyond normal duties that positively impact the client through time savings, streamlining, and/or process improvement. 

Responsibilities:

The CDM Knowledge Management Specialist is a strategic role focused on establishing and maintaining effective knowledge management practices within the organization. This position collaborates with stakeholders to create a robust governance program and standardized templates, ensuring consistent handling of knowledge assets. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

1.  Governance Program Development: 

  • Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive governance program for CDM knowledge management, aligned with Air Force Manual 33-396. 

  • Assist with defining policies, procedures, and guidelines related to CDM knowledge asset management, access, and security. 

  • Collaborate with CDM Directorate stakeholders to ensure compliance with established standards. 

  • Coordinate with the CDM Records Managers to ensure governance is consistent with and aligned with Records Management governance. 

2.  Standardized Templates: 

  • Work closely with Directorate stakeholders to develop Directorate Level SharePoint site landing pages to enable a cohesive and consistent experience when accessing CDM SharePoint products and templates. 

  • Work closely with Directorate stakeholders to develop common templates for knowledge assets (e.g., documents, manuals, procedures). 

  • Ensure templates adhere to organizational branding, formatting, and quality standards. 

  • Facilitate the adoption of these templates across CDM Directorates. 

3.  Collaboration and Training: 

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their knowledge management needs and recommend possible existing solutions. 

  • Provide training and guidance on using standardized templates effectively. 

  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and best practices.  

4.  Continuous Improvement: 

  • Monitor the effectiveness of the governance program and templates. 

  • Collect feedback from users and adjust processes as needed 

  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging practices in knowledge management. 

 Qualifications:

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • 10 years’ experience providing solutions for Knowledge Management and related activities within DoD, the military and/or the Federal government. 

  • Extensive experience with MS SharePoint. 

  • Experience leading working groups and communicating across organizations with stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Records management experience 

The following qualifications are desired:

  • Knowledge Management Certification.  

  • SharePoint Certifications.  

  • Change Management Certifications. 

  • PMP
