Position:         Congressional Cell Support  

Location:        Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia  

Clearance:      Secret

Education:     Bachelor’s Degree

Outcomes:

The successful candidate is expected to accomplish the following outcomes the first year in the position:

·         Facilitate accurate and prompt replies to congressional inquiries and messaging.

Perform accurate, high quality, and timely work which leads to positive Government performance feedback.

Responsibilities:

The Headquarters United States Space Force (HQ USSF) and the Director of Staff (HQSF/DS) require assistance in organizational planning, implementation, maturation, and strengthening of the HQ Space Force. To further the process of developing HQ USSF, a multi-faceted planning, integration, and management support team continues to implement a multi-phased, (multi-year), plan to transition HQ USSF from an initial operating capacity to full operational capacity. The Congressional Cell Support Representative will assist with these efforts by performing the following functions:

·         Support ongoing USSF Congressional engagement efforts.

·         Assist with the assessment and development of knowledge management (KM) principles.

·         Support ongoing USSF stand-up, implementation planning efforts, support Space Force culture design and enablement.

Assist with managing a diverse portfolio of USSF programs and initiatives in support of directed Congressional reporting requirements.

 

Qualifications: The candidate must have the following qualifications:

·         Secret security clearance

·         Bachelor’s degree in an associated technical or line of business discipline

·         Possess 13 years of experience supporting Congressional engagement efforts and developing and refining responses to Congressional inquiries.

Highly Desired Requirements: Experience working with Congress.

·         Highly-motivated self-starters that have Subject Matter Expertise in the Legislative cycle process.

·         A general understanding of DoD staffing procedures using task management systems to effectively manage specific USSF programs and initiatives.

·         Resourceful individuals with extraordinary intellectual capability and the ability to rapidly learn and apply new concepts.

·         Knowledge and certification in DoD Planning, Programming, and Budget Execution (PPBE) activities preferred.

·         Individuals who have a “let me try” attitude and are resilient, present an opinion/position, justify it, and then accept whatever decision is made and charge forward.

·         Individuals who view criticism as an opportunity to improve (“let me try again”) as part of a Team focused effort supporting the advancement of cutting edge space operations.

·         Individuals who think and create, enhancing the company with a steady flow of fresh ideas, perspective, and energy to meet ever evolving DoD requirements tied to national defense.

·         Highly proficient with using an array of Microsoft office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, SharePoint, Teams, DoD task management system) required.
