Position: Senior Systems Engineer 

Location: Fairfax, VA

Clearance: TS/SCI 

Education: Master’s Degree 

Outcomes:  

The successful candidate is expected to accomplish the following outcomes in the first year on the position:  

·         Identify all related stakeholders within 30 days and chart a roadmap for initial contributions within 90 days. 

·         Formally track all tasks, to include:  assigned by, suspense, status and comments on all assigned tasks through completion and be prepared to brief upon request. 

·         Create online transition folders reflecting all duties. 

·         Create one or two products beyond the client requirements that positively impact the client to either increase efficiency, effectiveness, or innovation. 

Responsibilities: 

The Senior Systems Engineer is the Lead Systems Engineer for the Acquisition Intelligence Joint Integration Cell (AQINT JIC), which falls with thin the Air Force – Concepts, Development and Management (SAF CDM) Research and Advanced Analytics (CDMR) Directorate. The Senior System Engineer assists in modernizing, aligning and integrating digital enterprise architecture solutions, focusing on information technology acquisitions, portfolios, requirements, and material solutions when required. 

Specific tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

·         Support the team's effort to develop business process re-engineering recommendations based on current acquisitions processes and information flows to and from the intelligence community.

·         Meeting with the management team to assess and define the system requirements.

·         Analyzing network data and infrastructure to determine inefficiencies and problems.

·         Developing and designing network architecture and computer systems infrastructure.

·         Overseeing the development, installation, configuration, and administration of computer systems.

·         Managing project timelines, budgets, and documentation.

·         Monitoring computer systems and networks for viruses, malfunctions, and errors.

·         Troubleshooting technical issues and developing effective solutions.

·         Preparing network analytics, data reports, and operational manuals.

·         Training the engineering team on new systems, protocols, and best practices.

Qualifications: 

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

·         Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field and five (5) years of experience as a Systems Engineer.

·         ITIL V3 Foundations certification

The following qualifications are desired:

·         Experience in IT systems integration.

·         Experience in Database integration techniques.

·         Experience in Data visualization.

·         Systems engineering tools (Sparx EA, Cameo, Core, etc).

·         Enterprise architecture development.

·         Knowledge of JCIDS, PPBE, and DAS.

·         Process mapping, e.g. BPMN or other.

·         Modeling and simulation.

Travel: Minimal Travel Required.
