Position:         Mixed Media Design (MMPD) Team Lead/SME (DoD OIG)

Location:         Alexandria, VA (Marks Center)

Clearance:       Secret

Education:       BA/BS in Business, Management, Communications, or a related field.

Outcomes:   The successful candidate is expected to accomplish the following outcomes in the first year of the position:

• Contribute to exceptional ratings in all evaluation areas on the Contractor Performance

       Assessment Ratings (CPAR) report.

• Consistently exceed standards associated with established metrics.
• Maintain less than a 10-15% annual turnover rate.

Responsibilities:

The Mixed Media and Publishing Design (MMPD) Team Lead/SME serves as the focal point for all team assigned tasks under task areas:  Desktop Publishing and Publication Design Services, Visual Communications, Digital Communications, and Web Communications (508 Compliance).  The position is in support of DoD OIG, as part of the Contractor Support Services, Mission Support Team (CSSMST). The MMPD Team Lead is responsible for the performance, quality, and timeliness of all output of the team and reports directly to the Task Order onsite Project Manager.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Plans, directs and coordinates project activities to ensure that established milestones are accomplished on time, within prescribed funding parameters,  and by client business objectives
• Manages the production of professional desktop publishing services for the creation of OIG publications, reports, and other communications materials (posters, brochures, fact sheets, exhibit displays, photographs, and website content) for print and electronic publication.
  • Using MS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Project), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects, Bridge), and Adobe Digital Publishing Suite.
• Assists with developing and maintaining publications style guides, templates, instructions, and instruction manuals
• Manages project trackers using Excel and other systems as required for tracking purposes.
• Manages projects from concept through completion for both report publications and creative design projects.
• Manages professional photography and graphic design support, plan, analyze, and create solutions that meet internal and external communications and outreach requirements using a variety of methods, including Illustration, photography, video, animation, and various print and layout techniques.
  • Using MS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Project), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects, Bridge), and Adobe Digital Publishing Suite.
• Assists with developing strategies for web-based information dissemination and social media engagement activities,
• Recommends improvements to existing internal and external websites and pages to appeal to targeted audiences and stakeholders more broadly and effectively
• Improves customer usability experience and 508 compliance.
• Oversees analytical assessments for technology involving DOD OIG compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. 794d).
• Assists in developing a comprehensive Section 508 compliance program.
• Participates in Gemini weekly team meetings.
• Participates in client weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings.
• Collects, collate and analyze assigned performance metrics.
• Contributes to the weekly, monthly, and quarterly Gemini project management reports.

Qualifications:

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a communications field, such as Public Affairs, Communications, Web Design, Publishing, and 5 of those years managing mixed media projects and deliverables.
• BA/BS in the areas of business, communications, or related fields.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Demonstrated success leading or supporting cross-functional, creative, and collaborative processes across multiple stakeholders.
• Secret clearance.

The following qualifications are desired:

• Supervisory experience.
• Experience as a liaison between contractor and client.
• Knowledge of data analytics.
• DoD or Federal Agency experience in Public Affairs, Marketing, and Creative Teams
• Master’s degree desired.

Travel: Some travel may be required (less than 10%).
